I was wondering if anyone else has this problem with the ambers. I put some in (Sylvania 4147NALL) in April and since then the coat has baked off, turned white and one of the lights has burned out already.....Is this normal or did I have some crap bulbs?

:tickedoff: Figured......Well before I go and get some new ones does it make much of a difference between the 3157 or the 4157?

Actually a question for a different thread but I'll answer it here. Sounds like you have a bad socket. Easy enough fix. Get the socket only (just the guts) from a reverse light at a junkyard or auto parts store and swap it out. 5 minute fix. You may have to buy the whole plug to get it but there's no need to change out the whole plug.

First time poster here but I have a 2002 Avy and am doing some mods to it to make it mine. I saw this post about the DRL's, so I thought I would change them out. I went to the auto parts store and bought the 3157/4157NALL bulbs just like the post said. I got home crawled under the bumper and swapped them out no problem. Now here is the problem, they don't work or if they do I have no idea on how to tell. I have read all the replies here and to my knowledge I have done everything correct.

Steps I have taken to try to figure out if they work are:

1: Key on (I even tried with the vehicle running)
2: Transmission in drive, parking brake not set but I did chalk the tires so my avy wouldn't roll
3: Turned on Fog Lights (They work)
4: The light switch is in the auto on setting

Any ideas what I might have missed? I never realized that there were bulbs next to the fog lights to begin with so I have no clue if they ever worked.
