I have a 2002 1500 Z71 with leaking brake lines.  How do I replace them?

Replacing brake lines is somewhat a tedious task with all the bends and such. First you will need a flaring kit. Some auto parts will loan you the tools necessary. When you are replacing brake lines you will need use what is called a double flare or at least what I call it anyway. What happens is using the flaring tool you first flare the end of the line out, then using an adapter you then flare the inside of the brake line. This will ensure a tight seal and withstand the pressure being applied through the system. Please remember YOU CAN NOT USE Compression fittings or the typical type of fittings used for transmission coolant lines. The pressure used in a brake system is to great for those types of fittings and it's possible to cause death. If you are uncertain about this don't hesitate to take it to a brake shop to have it done right. Brake lines are not difficult but if they leak could lead to serious injury.
